Privacy Policy
Posy is a puzzle game developed by Prism Research and published by Radish Retail, LLC ("Radish", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy covers the Posy apps for iOS and Android and the web pages that support them (together, the "Service"). It explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It is incorporated into the Posy Terms of Service, and disputes about it are subject to the dispute-resolution section of those Terms where enforceable.
1. Summary
- Your progress, coins, cosmetics, player name and avatar are stored on your device. When you sign in with Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android), Posy also keeps an online account so your progress can be restored on another phone and you can add friends and play friend matches. You can delete that account in the app's Settings.
- We collect gameplay events and basic device information, tied to a random install ID that the app creates, to balance the game and fix problems.
- Posy is free and offers optional reward ads from our advertising partners, shown only when you choose to watch one. Posy does not show ads between games.
- We use analytics and advertising partners to measure which of our ads lead to installs. On iPhone, advertising identifiers are used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
- Purchases are handled by the App Store and Google Play. We never receive your payment details.
- We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data, and we do not use your information to train generative-AI models.
- Posy is not directed to children under 13.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information stored on your device
- Game progress. Puzzle progress and stars, scores, streaks, coins, hints, boosts, cosmetics, scenes and settings.
- Player name and avatar. The name you build from the word picker and the avatar you choose. These are shown in the game and are sent to us only if you sign in (see section 2.4).
- Reminders. If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled as local notifications on your device.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Install ID. A random identifier created by the app on first launch. It is not your name, your Apple or Google account, or a hardware identifier.
- Gameplay events. For example opening the app, starting and finishing games and puzzles, using hints or boosts, shop and purchase screen events, reward-ad views, notification opens and errors, with timestamps and game details such as level, score and number of features.
- Device and environment data. Platform, operating system and version, device model and manufacturer, a rough device performance tier, app version and build, language and locale, and country derived from your device's region setting or time zone. We do not use GPS or request location permission.
- Consent and tracking status. Whether consent and App Tracking Transparency prompts were shown and what you chose, so the app can respect your choice.
- Ad revenue estimates. The estimated value of ads shown, reported by our advertising partners, used to measure how the game is doing.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may log IP address, request time and technical request details when the app sends events or downloads updates. We do not store IP addresses with your gameplay events.
2.3 Information collected by advertising and measurement partners
- Advertising partners that serve reward ads may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone when you allow tracking, Google advertising ID on Android), IP address, device information and ad interactions to show, measure and, where permitted, personalise ads.
- Analytics and measurement partners receive app installs and opens, a small set of events (finishing the tutorial, reaching a new level and ad impressions with their estimated value), the install ID, app and device details and, where permitted, your advertising identifier, to measure and improve our ad campaigns.
2.4 Online account, friends and friend matches (when you sign in)
Posy signs you in with Game Center on iPhone or Google Play Games on Android. If you sign in, we keep:
- Sign-in ID. The player ID that Game Center or Google Play Games gives Posy, which we check with Apple or Google. We do not receive your Apple ID, your Google account email or your password.
- Online profile. A random account ID, your friend code, player name, avatar and avatar frame, and when you were last online. Your friends and opponents can see your name, avatar, frame, friend code and whether you are online now.
- Saved progress. A copy of your game progress, so it can be restored when you sign in on another phone.
- Friends. Friend requests, friends, people you removed or blocked, and challenges you send or receive. If Game Center or Google Play Games shares your friend list with Posy, we store only scrambled (hashed) versions of those friends' IDs, and use them only to suggest friends who also play Posy.
- Friend matches. Who played, the table played, the scores, the result and when the match started and ended. The match server also checks each move so that matches are fair.
- Link codes. Short-lived codes you create to use one account on two phones. They expire after a few minutes.
If you do not sign in, none of this is sent to us. On iPhone, your progress can also be kept in your own iCloud storage, which we cannot access.
2.5 Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number or date of birth.
- We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
- We do not read your device's name or hardware serial numbers.
- We do not use personal information to train generative-AI models.
3. Advertising and Your Consent
Posy offers optional reward ads (for example, extra coins, a hint or a free try) and does not show full-screen ads between games. In regions where consent is required, such as the EEA and UK, the app shows a consent form before personalised ads are used. On iPhone, the app asks for permission to track after the tutorial; if you decline, your advertising identifier is not shared and our partners are told that ad tracking is not allowed. Until you answer these prompts, ad storage stays off for measurement. You can change your choices at any time in your device's privacy settings, and on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings.
Third parties, including Google and Meta, may collect or receive information from Posy and other apps and use it to provide measurement services (such as Google Analytics) and targeted ads. You can opt out of targeted ads as described above and in section 8. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
4. Purchases
Posy+ is an auto-renewing weekly subscription, and earlier versions offered a one-time no-ads purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play Billing. The app receives the product, transaction and subscription status it needs to unlock what you bought and to restore it on another device. We do not receive your card or payment details, and we do not send purchase information to our advertising or analytics partners.
5. Game Updates
The app checks our update server for new versions of the game's content and code and downloads them over HTTPS. These requests include the app version and are logged by our hosting provider as described in section 2.2.
6. How We Use Information
- run the game, save progress on your device, and unlock and restore purchases;
- enhance your game experience, including tuning difficulty, rewards and how often ads appear using automated models built on pseudonymous gameplay data;
- show ads, including personalised ads where you have consented;
- measure which of our ads lead to installs and how much ad revenue the game earns;
- send local reminders if you turn them on;
- find and fix crashes, bugs and abuse, and keep the Service secure;
- comply with law, enforce our Terms and defend legal claims.
We do not use personal information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
7. How We Share Information
We share information only as described in this policy. We do not sell personal information for money. Where you allow personalised ads or tracking, information shared with our advertising and measurement partners may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under some US state laws; you can opt out as described in section 8.
7.1 Service providers and partners
| Who | Purpose | Data received |

7.2 Business transfers
If Radish or Prism Research is acquired, merged, reorganised, financed or sells assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7.3 Developer
Prism Research develops and operates Posy for Radish and has access to the information described in this policy to build, run and improve the game, under the same commitments.
7.4 Legal and safety
We may disclose information when needed to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect rights, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce our Terms.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Tracking. Decline the iOS tracking prompt or change it later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings.
- Ad consent. Where a consent form is shown, you can change your choice from the privacy options in the app's settings where available, or by contacting us.
- Reminders. Turn reminders off in the app's settings or your device's notification settings.
- On-device data. Deleting the app deletes the progress, settings and install ID stored on your device.
- Online account. In Settings, Delete online account removes your account, sign-in links, friends, blocks, saved progress and friend match history from our servers.
- Subscriptions. Manage or cancel Posy+ in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Access and deletion. You may ask for a copy of, or deletion of, the data we hold about you. Email posy@prismresearch.io with your friend code if you signed in; otherwise we will work with you to identify your install, for example from the device and dates you played.
California residents and residents of other places with privacy laws may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain portability, opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not be discriminated against for exercising rights. EEA and UK residents may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, obtain portability, withdraw consent and complain to a supervisory authority. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are contract (running the game you downloaded), consent (personalised ads and tracking), legitimate interests (game balance, measurement, security) and legal obligations.
9. Retention
We keep gameplay events and device information for as long as needed to run, balance and improve the game, maintain security and comply with law, and we delete or de-identify them when no longer needed. Online account data stays until you delete your online account in Settings, and link codes and unanswered challenges expire on their own. Data on your device stays until you delete the app. Purchase records held by the app stores are kept under their policies. Our partners keep the data they receive under their own policies.
10. Security
We use HTTPS in transit, access controls on our servers and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
Posy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Posy and want their data removed, contact posy@prismresearch.io.
12. International Transfers
Radish and Prism Research are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms and provider commitments.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will give notice in the app, in app update notes or by another reasonable method where required. The effective date above shows when this version applies.
